Mercy Primary Schools
September, 2007
Quite a simple site I did for a local primary school. (Well, technically it's two schools, but I digress.) The site is powered by WordPress so I had some fun creating my own theme and adding a few plugins. I also provided the client with a user manual and letterheads in keeping with the site design.
FrenchQuarter.com creative comps
July, 2007
I did some internship work with a company in New Orleans called Valentino Creative Services. They were cool enough to let me mock-up some designs for FrenchQuarter.com, which showcases the best of New Orleans' most famous neighbourhood.
All the designs are presented here as big jpg's centered via CSS so you can view them more like a real webpage. Might take a minute to load on slower connections.
Making movies, baby!
April, 2007Our Photography and Video class in college called for us to make a few short movies of our own. The video above -- ingeniously entitled Breakfast -- was a solo effort. The object was to put together a number of different shots over a continuous audio track.
Yours truly acted as writer, director, cinematographer, chief make-up artist and best boy grip, as well as doing an amazing job of playing myself in the starring role. The whole thing was shot and edited in about 2.5 hours. Shooting was done in my kitchen, editing was done in Adobe Premiere.
Self Branding
March, 2007
As part of a college project, I began branding myself in March 2007. The logo started out as the letter "N" but ended up looking like a crab claw. I ran with it.
Below are a few bits and pieces that emerged from the branding project.
Enable Animation
March, 2007
While working at TSSG, I created an animation to help explain the use of Enable's mobile technology. The project came my way just as my final year in college was heating up, so there was many a late night trying to get it finished. Good times.
AJD Ltd. Carpentry & Joinery
December, 2006
I did this site for my brother's business in December 2006. It's a very simple (read: static), online brochure which only took a few hours to design and build. The header is modelled on the design of some business cards he already had made, so I won't be taking responsibility for that. No sir.
Hornets247.com
September, 2006
My pet project. I've done four versions of this site to date, currently building 5.0 with Ruby on Rails. I am responsible for all the programming and design. Built the current live version from scratch in 2006, teaching myself heaps of CSS, PHP and other goodness along the way.
HoldYerHorses
May, 2006
This was the third-year college project I did with two other guys. It was a virtual horse racing website, with a Flash game being the main draw. I was mostly responsible for the actual game.
The version I have hosted here just uses static data, but the full version pulled different horses, tracks and weather conditions from an Access database via ColdFusion. Unfortuantely, the game is pretty much unwinnable. Seriously.
Doherty & Bolger Garage Doors
September, 2005
This was one of the first sites I did, so it's quite dated now. This was back in my dark age of table-based layouts and Dreamweaver templates (ugh). I'm itching to go back and build it to proper standards, but it does what it needs to do for now. I like to think the design still works.
