Thanks for sharing Niall! Great video also. I have had not heard about that technique, but conceptually it makes sense to me. My dad used to be a marathon runner once winning the helsinki city marathon with time 2.20.41. He used to coach me a little bit about running. And it also seems that especially with the Vibram five fingers since there is not that much support it is better for your feet as well since as the emphasis is on lifting them off the ground there is less pounding effect to them. You have some really cool articles on your blog!! Love it!!

Ksenia: Thanks for reading. It is difficult to learn the POSE method. I'd recommend getting a coach if possible. I've heard people pick it up much faster even with just an hour of instruction from a coach. Having someone videotape your form is also supposed to help a lot, so you can see exactly what parts of your running style need to change.

Good luck with it. And keep those recipes coming!

No, I didn't hear about the POSE method before so thanks for telling me about it :D I knew that most of shin splints cases are because of pronation and landing too much on the hill two things that the method helps to avoid. I'm definitively going to try this :) I know it won't be easy, because I've been running for many years and it's difficult to get rid of your old running style...but I have to try. As you told in you post, you have to experiment :D

The SMART method sound great too :) After reading your post, I feel like participating in a race too. My shin splints are getting better slowly, and I'm beginning to train again (yesterday I run 25min, which is far from my usual hour. But I didn't want to force myself and finish injured again). So maybe I will try it soon :)

About the long posts....if I'm interested in the topic, I prefer the long ones. It's like a good book: you want it to last :)
